Brændon is the trading brand through which the Data Controller presents and sells its products.
The Golden Octagon determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data carried out through the website and is responsible for compliance with the applicable data protection legislation.
2. PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data processed when the user:
- visits or browses the website;
- creates or uses a personal account;
- adds products to the shopping cart or wishlist;
- places an order;
- requests assistance or sends a communication;

Full payment card details are processed directly by the relevant payment service providers. The Golden Octagon only receives the information required to determine the result and status of the transaction.
3.4 Customer assistance and contact requests
Personal data provided by email, telephone, WhatsApp, chat, contact form or any other available communication channel is processed in order to:
- respond to requests;
- provide information about products;
- manage assistance, orders, returns and complaints;
- take any pre-contractual steps requested by the data subject.
The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures and, in relation to general requests, the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in managing communications received.
Requests are normally retained for no longer than 24 months after they have been dealt with. In the event of complaints or disputes, they may be retained for the period required to protect the rights of the Data Controller.
3.5 Newsletter and marketing communications
With the user’s consent, the email address is used to send:
- news concerning the brand and its products;
- promotions and offers;
- communications relating to collections, initiatives and events;
- invitations and other marketing content.

3.6 Statistical analysis and performance measurement
With the user’s consent, the website uses Google Analytics 4 and the statistical features made available by Wix in order to:
- understand how the website is used;
- measure visits, page views and interactions;
- analyse browsing paths;
- identify technical or usability issues;
- improve content, products and features;
- produce statistics concerning the website’s performance.

3.7 Meta Pixel and Conversions API
With the user’s consent to the Marketing category, the website uses Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
Meta Pixel enables the detection of events generated through the user’s browser. The Conversions API may enable events to be transmitted through the server systems used by the website.

Any subsequent processing carried out directly by Meta is governed by Meta’s own privacy policy.
3.8 Consent management and documentation
The website uses Usercentrics for Wix to collect, store and document preferences relating to cookies and other tracking technologies.
The following information may be processed:
- a technical identifier relating to the user’s choice;
- the date and time of the choice;
- the categories accepted or rejected;

3.11 HERO programme
Personal data provided by applicants to the HERO programme is processed in order to:
- receive and assess applications;
- contact applicants;
- organise any interviews or checks;
- manage subsequent participation in the programme.
The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures requested by the applicant and, where the applicant is selected, the performance of the relevant relationship.
Unsuccessful applications are retained for a maximum of 12 months. Data relating to selected participants is retained for the duration of the relationship and subsequently for the periods required to comply with legal obligations and protect the rights of the Data Controller.
3.12 Legal obligations, fraud prevention and protection of rights
Personal data may be processed and retained in order to:
- comply with legal obligations;
- respond to requests from competent authorities;
- prevent and investigate fraud or unlawful use;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims in judicial or out-of-court proceedings.
The legal basis is compliance with legal obligations and the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in preventing unlawful activities and protecting its rights.
